Went to see the Black Crowes and wasn't impressed Yeah, I forgot my straw hat and piece of grass The concert was only 1 1/2 hours long and not at all what I thought it would be..... They have really changed their style of music, like really changed.... I am not bashing, just a little disappointed Mind you, they do sound awesome live.

It is all good Karma. They are artists and artists can't function as machines. They have mood-dependent life systems which makes their creations very mood oriented and that eventually leads to them having various off-and-on day cycles.

I know artist can't run like machines and I didn't expect that from them. Their style of music has changed, It isn't the upbeat music that I know them for.. That is all I was trying to say trig... I will always love the Black Crowes, they are one of my favorite bands and that is something that will never change. I would go and see them again at the drop of a hat...

the release of their previous album war paint was a flop the first couple shows i went to see. i mean in a sense that the majority of the people at the show were thinking the same thing as you karma. they wanted the old skool black crowes from the days of old. i have since seen them 13 times in 3 years. each show has different feel, and each show is a different set.
to fully experience their style of music is to be able to experience them from different venues. i have driven over 3000 miles to see them perform in small old broadway movie houses, to ute indian ceremonial grounds. i have seen them sober and seen them wasted to the point of being taken away by the police for my own protection. i have seen them in the company of the hells angels and in the company of hollywoods snob crowd.
once you feel the crowes, then you will know what they are about. change is necessary to continue on, they know that. too many people want them to stay the way they remember them as. as an artisit myself, i appreciate their ability to recreate themselves each time they tour, this year i will be traveling, about 1500 miles to see them play from san diego to san francisco and everywhere in between. i go to a black crowes show with no expectations, so i will be open to a new experience without the old experiences getting in my way.

I agree with you hairy and change is great but in the hour and half that they played and being my first concert It would have been nice to hear some of their older music too..... I should have told them that but they were busy...lol Next time I will jump up on the stage and tell Chris that he better play the song I want to hear or else So, if you hear on the news that some crazy chick from Canada jumped up on the stage while the Black Crowes were playing, yeah, that would be me ......hehe I would never let that one experience stop me from seeing them again. Also, I do like some of their new music as well.... "The Last place That Love Lives" Travel and listen to music saweet
P.S. Don't you want to hear me sing hairy? Peace N Love

i'm waiting for the first the chords, harmonys and melodies karma.
the first black crowes show i went to, i too was kinda disappointed. then i was able to party with them and find out how they are in person. the experience of partying with them changed my perspective as to what they are all about.
my last show was during the war paint tour. they played the west coast. i saw them in two times in nevada, 1 time in colorado and 4 times in california. this year i will see them in san francisco, los angeles, san diego and hopefull a few other casinos.
